IBM and Lockheed Martin open a quantum hub at ETH Zurich, Switzerland's first IBM quantum computer

IBM

IBM and Lockheed Martin announced a Swiss Quantum Innovation Hub at ETH Zurich, anchored by the first IBM quantum computer installed in Switzerland.

This is IBM extending its physical hardware footprint into a new country with a major defense contractor as co-anchor. Lockheed's involvement signals defense-sector interest beyond IBM's usual academic and enterprise customer base.

No dollar figure disclosed. This is a facility opening, not a contract. Worth checking whether ETH Zurich research using this system produces anything IBM later points to as a customer win.
