Anderon makes its first superconducting chip design kit available through licensing, but has not named an outside customer
On Oct. 14, Anderon announced a process design kit, or PDK, for its 300mm manufacturing platform. The kit helps customers design qubits, input/output components, amplifiers, and filters that can be made using Anderon's manufacturing process. It also includes a sample design for checking qubit coherence and technical information about how the components behave. Companies must sign a licensing agreement to get access. Anderon has not disclosed the price or named any customers.
Anderon finalized a $1B CHIPS award on Sept. 16, with IBM committing another $1B. A design kit is an important step because it allows outside companies to design chips for the facility.
This moves Anderon closer to operating as a foundry that serves outside customers. But with $2B committed to the facility, there is still no publicly named external customer.
