PsiQuantum receives a conditional offer for up to $150M in federal loans, but the terms are not public
The Department of War's Office of Strategic Capital has offered PsiQuantum a conditional loan of up to $150M for its 140,000-square-foot facility in Milpitas. The money would support testing equipment, assembly, system integration, and cooling systems. The company makes clear that the loan is not final or guaranteed. It has not disclosed the interest rate, repayment period, or any ownership-related terms.
This is a loan, unlike PsiQuantum's $125M DARPA agreement in July and its $100M CHIPS award in September. Together, the three announcements represent $375M in potential federal support over roughly three months. The loan is the only one that has not been finalized.
A conditional offer is not money in the bank. Count it once the final agreement is signed. Because PsiQuantum is privately held, the full loan terms may never become public.
