QNu Labs raises $21 million, India's National Quantum Mission co-leads the round

General Industry

QNu Labs, an Indian quantum-safe cybersecurity company founded in 2016, closed a ₹200 crore ($21 million) Series A1, co-led by India's National Quantum Mission itself and Speciale Invest, with Sony Innovation Fund, Gaja Capital, and Artha Ventures participating. Total raised to date: ₹375 crore ($39.4 million). Part of the funding covers QNu's matching-fund obligation on a separate ₹150 crore government RDI project.

A national government fund co-leading a private Series A, rather than just granting money separately, is a different and closer alignment between state industrial policy and private capital than most of the government-adjacent stories in this feed. QNu already has deployed products across government, critical infrastructure, and banking, not just pilots.

$21 million is still an early round by global standards, and 80% coming from new investors is a company's own framing of "conviction building," take that specific line as marketing, not data. The government co-lead is the actual story here, not the round size.
